I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. The zombie apocalypse started in April. Hannah couldn't fathom how she was able to remember something so irrelevant, although when she has over a year of isolation from any other living human being it's startling as to how much detail and information one person can manage to reminisce. She was 15 years old when it began. Now, she was turning 17 and nothing had gotten better. If anything, everything had become harder. Human extinction was inevitable and the probability of surviving wasn't just slightly possible, it was impossible. Especially when she's alone. Disclaimer- Any similarities to other stories or films is purely accidental and not done intentionally. Obviously, I adopted the idea of zombies and do not claim to have created them.

I quickly take off my shoes and make my way down trying not to fall. I make it to the bottom I grab my sister's head and hold her close, I then check for a pulse and I feel hope again. My sister still has a pulse, but she is bleeding out fast.
