Tw: 5 stages of grief but really really intense (i think) 
i'm not sure what else i don't really have this planned out i'm just kinda going with it 

a lot of trauma and mental breakdowns

gore and descriptions of pain and like immense grieving (bc obviously... after season 4 like what do u expect)

in this story everyone is fine, except for phycological trauma obviously, except for Eddie. Max lives, the town doesn't shatter and crack, it's all fine and dandy. 

Eddie is dead, everyone is heartbroken and no one knows how to really cope with it.

Especially Steve. 

But what if Eddie isn't... actually dead.

Steve POV Eddie and Steve have known each other since middle school. It wasn't until the recent touch with the Upsidedown had they really gotten close again. The kids adored him, all of their friends loved him. He fit right in, and Steve had fallen absolutely head over heals for him. It's been exactly 6 months since Eddie was taken by the monsters in the Upsidedown. 6 months since Steve's felt anything, or wanted to feel anything. 6 months since he's been happy to see someone, or hear someone else's voice. How has it only been 6 months? Steve's drinking has gotten out of hand, so has the undying need to numb it all away. One of the best friends he's had since Robin, gone in a matter of moments.
