Summer came from a broken family. She couldn't drown her bad moods and feelings by hanging out with friends and making happy memories. Her parents were jerks, seemed like they hated eachother and everyone, but still weren't broken up. Summer grew to be afraid of conflicts and arguments going on around her. Her smiles were sad now. They weren't full of happiness anymore. She couldn't hide her upset gaze. Not like Billy. Billy was strong. At least, that's how he looked like. Strong and mean.
Summer and Billy were neighbours. She always heard the fights in his house, and she was pretty sure he heard hers. Luckily Summer wasn't always getting hit, but as she always looked out the window when the argument next door finished, she always saw a beat up boy angrily walk to his car and storm off.
One day their paths met after their angry parents fought, and that's when their life changed, just a bit.
