✶ steve harrington had internalized a harsh lesson from his time with nancy wheeler in 83' : if love eluded him, he would settle for utility. It was his penance, his glass heart had been prodded too many of times to recover. he had long since abandoned any belief in love-until he met anya hopper.

anya, an enigma cloaked in coldness, was everything he didn't know he'd needed. his glass heart had once belonged to nancy, but now it yearned for anya's undivided love. but coldness does not break glass; and glass cannot warm the cold. regrettably, steve loses her and leaves her heart now as splintered as his own.

if the world were to end, he could not let their love die with it, like shattered glass. he would do whatever it took to mend what he had broken, because, for the first time, he believed in love, if only he could prove it to her.
