Varian's had it rough. It's never easy when you're an outcast. And then his father got frozen in the amber, Varian was denied help, and soon, he was out to seek revenge. But, four years later, he's back. Answers quite possibly await him in Old Corona, the land of old memories- bad memories- and he must set out to gain these answers while trying to avoid his past. Of course, the past itself is inescapable.

A Varigo alternative universe! An AU where the world is made of clouds! (Or Hugo's world, at least) Hugo was born in a world called Cumulus, his location the large city of Ingvarr, the capital of Estioriel. Not known to any on Earth. They live like people on Earth, but still quite different. From their architecture, to their clothing- they're all made of clouds. The ground is cloud. They eat the ground to manage their thirst. There are thousands of islands of clouds, all being a different city or town. If you somehow find your way up there, you're in for a wild ride. So what happens when an "average" eighteen-year-old from Earth turns up in the clouds? Varian stumbles into this strange new world, desperate to get back to his home as soon as possible. Not too long after he first arrives, Varian meets a street rat named Hugo.

One day, eighteen years ago, the sun shone bright. Brighter than it ever had before. As if it was closer to the world, minutes away from colliding, yet still at the same distance, far away. The kingdom of Corona saw this most clearly, and most would've marveled at the sight, basked in the rays of sun practically touching the earth...but that was not the highlight of their day. And, you know the drill, I don't own anything except most of the story. This Used To Be Called Rapunzel of Old Corona :) This is also part one in a series part two is going to be called 'It Happens Suddenly'

Hugo, an obsessed history buff, finds a way to travel back in time to 16th century Corona so he can do more in depth research for his PhD. After camping outside a medieval village, the townspeople suspect him of witchcraft and want him dead. Before he manages to escape, he has a run in with a deathly ill prince named Varian who learns that modern medicine exists and decides to do something risky.
