"'Phoenix' is both a slice-of-life and erotic novel that delves into the socially controversial theme of love. On one hand, it weaves a tale of rediscovery and returning to a semblance of normality after losing loved ones, offering a vivid portrayal of emerging from the depths of depression, panic attacks, and a deep exploration of the various mental states of someone unsure about their will to live. The protagonist, a painter, amidst this tumultuous journey, encounters Maris, a shining star of the Polish music scene. His youth, fervor, and untamed spirit sweep her into an unexpected odyssey - a journey filled with emotions, self-discovery, and a battle for her mental well-being.
On the flip side, 'Phoenix' also chronicles the life of Maris, a celebrity and vocalist seemingly at the pinnacle of fame. His hedonistic lifestyle is a facade, a means to avoid confronting his introspective nature and a burdensome past. What initially appears to be glittering success soon reveals itself as a house of cards, fragile and easily toppled. Amidst the pendulum swing of events and experiences, our characters shimmer, reflecting and redefining themselves as if in mirrors, embarking on a quest of rebirth.
The first volume concludes with a cliffhanger.
As Claire aims to leave her oppressive stepfamily behind, she befriends Zion. Will he be her ticket to freedom or a distraction in achieving her dreams?
