Noelle has only ever known one life. The life she has lived in an R.V in the middle of the Sahara desert with Dean for the last year. Before that she cannot remember. Dean leaves every morning at sunrise and comes back every evening before nightfall. She has never asked where he goes or what he does, so long as he comes home every day. But Noelle's simple way of life is disrupted by utter anarchy when she learns that Dean is part of a human rebel group that is stockpiling weapons for the war against a different species. Chaos breaks out when the group is bombed and Noelle is separated from Dean. Noelle is not human, though. She looks human with her fair complexion, but is the same species as the enemy. But in order to find her beloved Dean, she must find the people who have taken him. In a world on the brink of disaster, Noelle is forced to face both reality as well as the part she has played in the harming of her loved one.
