After King Xullion falls, Aresa, Werlek, Grenin and Regorn leave the capital Denereth and start moving back the way they came, in hope of finding Thon amd Dion. 

But the dragon-scale bracelet Aresa carries is more dangerous then any of them realize, and going back to the Forest Jua-agar where they last saw Thon and Dion is not so easy anymore.

Thon, a boy of 17, and Aresa, his 16 year old cousin, had to hunt in the woods to provide for Dion, Aresa's younger brother, and Sinnek, their aged grandfather. They did not know that the day some soldiers entered their peaceful village, their lives would be changed permanently.
