Scott will write to Derek because they need him (Scott doesn't need him), he will write to Derek because of what Derek used to be to Stiles( because he owes Stiles that much)
He will write, not because Scott is as broken as he is, not because of what Derek was to him and definitely not because of what Derek wasn't to him.

*BASED ON TEENWOLF THE MOVIE ENDING* Scott calls Stiles to update him on what all happened; that the Nogitsune escaped thanks to Harris. Harris! Their freaking chemistry teacher who hated their guts - mostly Stiles'. Allison came back Void and remembered nothing, only that she must kill werewolves. (Specifically Derek). But to not worry because Lydia screamed and it gave her the memories she had lost. Scott told Stiles how Derek Hale sacrificed himself to save not only the pack but his son as well. Not only that but scott has been the centre of attention and jokes as he's been scent marking Kira to warn off other packs. His scent is so strong it masks Derek marking stiles. After saving each others lives, both Derek and Stiles unearth feelings for each other, but just how connected they are come as a shock to even Deaton. When they open up to eachother, what will happen, when old enemies return and shadows fall over becon hills once more, how will things unfold.
