Seventeen-year-old Wes' father died in a car accident, mother left for drugs, and has been raising his 12-year-old sister Farrah. Hiding from Children's Protective Services, holding down two jobs and trying to keep himself from falling in love with a dying girl is taking its toll. Farrah is having her own trouble as she faces racism and bullying at school. Not knowing how to deal with all the pain, Farrah turns to cutting.
