With sudden urgency, he grabbed my shoulders and pulled me towards him. I started slightly, before putting my arms around him too. It was little moments like these, where there was not even a centimetre of air separating us, that gave me hope. Futile, stupid hope, but hope nonetheless. I pulled him tighter, determined not to let this moment slip away. We could never be anything more than what we are now, but being close to him helped me to forget that for a while.'

hawkins is broken and scared, as are it's residents. as spirits break throughout town, will byers stands in the background, unseen. that is, until, mike wheeler starts going to will for help amidst a slowly ending relationship. through the time they spend together, the pair will grow closer and navigate difficult feelings, familiar and otherwise.

this is a byler continuation of season 4. obviously, there will be NO smut, but there will be slow burn and angst aplenty.
