This takes place while Eddie is being "hunted" by Jason and the police but it's after Chrissy dies.
Eddie has never liked Steve... well until now. "The freak" and "the douche" never really got along but after Eddie's traumatic experience with Chrissy, Steve felt like he owed the metal head by helping him through panic attacks. Although Eddie trusted Steve most in the world now, he didn't feel like being friends was enough for him...

Steve(21) Hasn't had a chance to leave this awful place. He has stayed around for the kids, wanting nothing more to be there for each one's graduation. Confused. Lonely. Depression has really started to hit in the last couple of years after all of the tragic losses to the upsidedown. Nearly losing everything and everyone he's cared for and loved. Most everyone has gotten their chance to escape, Nancy and Jonathan moved to California after graduation. Robin's off at college. Until he realizes maybe he's not so alone here, sparking a true friendship with the most unlikely person, Eddie Munson. Eddie(22) hasn't been able to get out of this town either after swearing he would get the hell out of here many years ago. The kids are all graduating this year, which will most likely end up giving the two now men, no reason to stick around anymore. But what will happen to the two friends when Steve realizes the feelings he's thought for so long to just be a platonic friendship have always been a little more? Their friendship takes a new turn after Steve comes up with an idea to get them both out of their current state, take the other one to do their favorite things. What could go wrong? This is a fanfic from the show stranger things, there will be season four spoilers. Since the show hasn't ended, and I just finished Vol two, this will not be canon accurate. I started writing before Vol two came out and I'm staying with my plot rather than follow the rest of the show. This is a happy ending fic so don't worry.
