Weaver & the Wight by EBNookes
4 parts Complete
Our story begins in a dying world. The sun hangs low, pale and faint, and the wind is bitter and cold. Monsters and sickness alike have pushed people into Wandering Cities, safe havens amongst the wasteland the world has become. And nothing is as it seems- the cities breathe, the land shifts, and reality twists in unruly ways. Amongst it all, an old world sits forgotten, most archives of its history simply gone. In the corpses of this buried world, whispers flow about, and in the fraying weave of the old and rotten Wastes, shines an unknowable light. Gillain is a prince, or so the King of Muln calls him. In all honesty, he's a monster, a patchwork thing made from the scraps of a dead boy of the same name. There's a difference between a monster like Gillian and the other sorts you may come to find. He is a good person. It is only his dreams which crawl with taunting voices and lying songs, something he can never seem to avoid. And at a certain point, they crawl farther than his sleep, and tragedy strikes the boy's haven in the city of Muln. Without much of a choice, he flees, hoping the Wastes can be his new home. Vara is lost, even though she may be exactly where her home once sat. Now, however, it is but decimated and ruined, and she can barely remember why. All she knows is that being alone has started to get to her, and she just wishes to no longer face the wreckage of her city by herself. And then, a shooting star drops from the clouds, and with it comes a stranger in black. A secretive man, but he's at least a man. More of a man than the patchworks that have begun to hunt her down, at least. A man willing to help and protect her. Weaver & the Wight is the first in the Unweaving by E B Nookes. It is an introduction of sorts, both to the Cities that wander this whimsically dark world, and those few that dare venture out into the churning wastelands beyond them. This is a sample. Rise of Fire: Dragons Reborn [COMPLETED] by RosaleeRain
49 parts Complete Mature
The world had long since forgotten the age of dragons, those creatures that had once ruled the skies as gods had long since disappeared after the conclusion of the Great Demon Wars. Dragons became nothing more than a fading legend, a story to tell children at bedtime. But the gods could not let the dragons die, for they were the last defense against the demon armies and the dark god Vekkar. Talia had been born and raised in a world of darkness acting as an agent of Hephatus, goddess of assassins and death. She knew only a life of killing, sometimes for justice, sometimes for honor, always for money. Her morals were opaque at best. But when she's deployed to the city of Arboros she finds herself thrust into a world of political games, opposing powers, and constant threat. Nowhere was safe even for her. Her goals became muddied, and then lost altogether when she meets the Dwarven Prince. Bromyr had spent the last five years of his life chasing ghosts, desperate to find the lost dragon eggs. His people thought him crazy, his father stripped him of his titles, but he never gave up. Eventually his effort bore fruit and he hastily made way to return to his homeland only to get caught up in the city of Arboros. It was there that he met an intriguing half-giant, a woman who ignited a fire everywhere she went. In the end she was the one who inadvertently brought about the new age of dragons. What could go wrong when an ill tempered assassin becomes the first dragon rider of a new age? ***Cover made by annie1loves1you***
