Two Alike

A certain unnamed director has ruined the "twist ending" for pretty much everyone. Too much of a good thing or somesuch. Therefore, I think this piece is a bit more interesting to have the twist in the middle and then sort of stream off from there.

This piece has a certain amount of personal significance since my relationship with my own father is at least no longer truly negative but nonexistent. It's a bit of a void in my life that I really can't fill but maybe it's also something I don't need to, or at least I've changed where it may not be a factor. I am not sure. Maybe what Pete has I want, even with the strings attached.

But a friend of mine has the father experience with his daughter and they're not even blood-related. You can hear the pride in his voice when he speaks of her accomplishments. So what is a father, a parent, to us? The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb, indeed.
