(I've been working on the background of this for a while and just decided i had to post it bc i got too excited lmao - will most likey not have regular updates)

Every year at midnight on new years, each person who is 15 years old at that time is given the option to join Level Ninety-Nine. Level 99 is a game made up of 99 challenges, or levels, that get harder as the game goes on. If the player completes every level the secret to happiness in their life is revealed to them. The answer is different for everybody; it could be a certain accomplishment, a place, a person, a career path, etc. Not many people complete the challenge. The last task is said to be the worst of all...

Carmen and Devin have been best friends since they met in 6th grade. Carmen had just moved to town after her father and older brother were killed in a car crash that year. It was just her and her mother. She found comfort in her friendship with Devin. Devin loved Carmen with all his heart. He was willing to do anything for her. They were the closest of friends.

Level 99 turns out to be a more difficult experience than Carmen, Devin, or any of their friends had anticipated. Some drop out, some keep going in hopes that they'll find the secret to happiness in their life. But as the tasks become harder and harder to accomplish, can Carmen and Devin's friendship last?

Riley and Devin have been best friends forever-since Kindergarten. It's Senior year of high school, now. And it's always been simple, Riley's got his back, he's got hers. But as life goes on Riley can't help but wonder if maybe he's not just her best friend, if she likes him as possibly something more. As her feelings deepen and become something greater it becomes more evident that she's falling, really hard. No matter how hard Riley tries she can't stop falling, she can't stop from loving him. Even if it tears her to pieces or even if it destroys their friendship. Pretty soon Riley is going to have to choose between walking the safe line of friendship or taking the unpaved path of love. Will she risk everything for love?

But with their dark history following them at every corner, making new friends can't be on their list. Matter of fact, it isn't an option. Especially when their attitudes are what drive people away rather than in. Not like they're complaining though. When these eight students get paired up for an end of the year assignment, they encounter a lot of drama that will test their relationships to the max. What will happen to them? Can they grow comfortable with each other? Can these troubled teens even be friends in the first place?
