After the death of Eddie, Steve has been spending most of his time at his grave on the cliff side or with Robin at his workplace, Family video. Hawkins has been able to mostly recover damages, except for the permanent crack down the roads that used to be the gate.

When one of their friends strangely starts to see visions of the clock, they know Vecna is back, and they are determined to avenge the death of Eddie Munson. As they all start to investigate, they discover that the Eddie they knew and loved, the smile they used to enjoy, may be sharpening its fangs

This Fanfic goes over the Kas Theory going around, if you do not know what that is, here is a vivid explanation

In DND lore there is a character named Kas, he used to be the trusted soldier / friend of Vecna. He was a vampire that wielded a sword. He betrayed Vecna and died while fighting him. The theory is that because Eddie was killed by bats, he will turn into Kas thr bloody handed and fight Vecna.
