**I do not lay claim to the Stranger Things universe nor it's characters. Only the Mcleod family.** * "How do you know that, Dani?" Lorenzo asked as he looked back to Danika from the massive bookshelf on the south side of her room. "How do you know about the monster Nancy and I are hunting?" Danika stared at her best friend for a moment, a tightness gripping her chest as flashes came flooding to her. Images and sounds rolling rapidly in front of her minds eye, overwhelming her slightly. She grasped her right forearm with her dominant left hand as phantom burning sensations coursed through her veins and nerve endings. The scars on her arm to remind her of that dark, unforgiving nightmare. Blinking back tears she turned to the window on the west wall of her room. "Remember-remember the night I learned how Stefani died? H-how I was obsessed with finding her killer?" Lorenzo froze-remembering the year before like it was yesterday. "Yeah, I remember. You became fixated on her case for so long. I didn't even notice that you still had the murder board you built," he said touching the red string with this finger. He then thought about his brother, hoping that he was somewhere else-somewhere safe and alive. He hoped Will didn't turn out like Stefani. That may be selfish of him, but he knew in his heart his little brother was still alive. "It wasn't a who killed my sister, but a what..." Danika turned and looked at Lorenzo with a haunted look, her complexion growing paler as she spoke. "And you're hunting Stefani's killer." * Danika Mcleod is not your typical girl next door; according to her best friend Lorenzo Montgomery. Her life is much more chaotic than she leads on. After the death of her little sister Stefani, she tries to piece together what happened to her that mysterious and cold Halloween night in 1982. But then her best friend's little brother goes missing 13 months later. It's up the Danika to find him. Will she find him in time or will it be too late?

Quinn Taylor has made a career out of looking calm. On the ice, she's America's favorite kind of pressure-proof-bright smile, steady answers, the skater everyone wants to root for. Off the ice, she's an only child with a perfectionist's brain and a habit of carrying too much alone. The cameras love her. The country expects her. And the one place she can't afford to fall apart is the one place she's dreamed of since she was little. The Olympics. Macklin Celebrini has always made things feel lighter. He was the new kid at a Northern California rink at twelve-Canadian, polite, a little lost-until Quinn decided he was hers to keep. He became her best friend in the cold air and early mornings, the person who could make her laugh mid-breakdown and never ask her to perform for him. Then life did what life does: seasons changed, schedules got brutal, distance widened, and the kind of friendship that felt unbreakable turned into occasional texts and quiet missing. Now they're both back where the world is loudest. At the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Quinn is chasing the skate of her life for Team USA. Mack is carrying his own weight for Team Canada hockey. When reporters find out they grew up together, the story writes itself-childhood friends reunited, smiles caught on camera, a thousand strangers deciding what they are to each other. The only problem is... the strangers aren't entirely wrong. Between past chapters at a small California rink and present days in the Olympic Village, Quinn and Mack have to figure out what they really meant to each other then-and what they're allowed to be now, with medals on the line and the whole world watching. Because it's one thing to love someone quietly from a distance. It's another to have them show up in your life again and make everything feel possible.
