The thrill of adventure and deep
space travel beckons Kenzi to join Earth's interstellar military force. But in
order to follow her dreams, she has to leave behind more than just her
fashionable civvies. She gives up a family legacy and her first love to travel
half way across the galaxy to attend a premier academy for space soldiers.
On the discovery that an older
race, posing as an ally, might be responsible for the plot to wipe humanity
from the galaxy, Kenzi and a team of elite soldiers sets out on a black ops
assignment to find the truth. The excitement of joining her friends again as
they chase after their enemies across the galaxy is exactly what she signed up
for.
But just as she accepts the
stealth mission and plans to go off grid for a few years, the man she thought
she might never see again comes back into her life asking for a second chance. With
one man fighting by her side, willing to die for love and duty, and another man
building an interstellar business empire and waiting for her back on Earth, she
is left struggling with her emotions.
Torn between her desire for
adventure and the yearning for a love that she can't forget, she has to make a
choice. Follow her dreams or let her heart lead the way. Either one, she will
have to make a sacrifice.

Before the fall of Earth humanity built a great colony ship, ten thousand of the colonist left Earth for a hundred year journey to Gillespie. They came from all over the Earth leaving a planet knowing they would never see another in their lifetime. The Ark is a rotating cylinder the size of a large island with its own train system. It's divided into three main sections, the city, the framlands, and the Lowers. The people are divided into three groups as well, Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Uppers are made of elite scientist, Astro-crops, bureaucrats they made up about 3% of the population. The Middles are are the farmers, the guard, teachers, doctors, the food processors, clothes makers and of course the mechanical maintenance workers. They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever. Falling in love is hard enough falling in love in space that the story.Complete

I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. Jan warns her detecting her changes and reminding her earth is home and he could give her a future together but attracted as she is to him, she is unstoppable in her quest of the twin stars of Sirius. Then one day Jan knocks on her door, yet this was not her boss she knew. This was a man with deep understanding of space and wormholes and her. He extends his hand for a travel through time and space, assuring nothing but an experience of her deepest wish, galactic travel through the worm holes. But once on the planet between the two Sirius es, Ira realises this Jan was a shape shifter, she does not recognise him or know if he was the same man from her work. She however knows an earthly being like her would never survive there. As Jan reveals himself as the Prime Advisor of the planet, ruthless about everything but the survival of the planet and its people, he chains her literally to his side. In her mind comes the warning he will literally absorb her life and then discard her is a barren space. Desperate she tries to jump into the worm hole only to realise that the twin stars created a mirage worm hole had pushed her further into the abyss of nothingness where not even one star was in sight. Desperate she asks for assistance. Yet when it appears would she be able to accept it.
