after the laboratory incident that caused her parents' death, wen mingzhu is left to take care of her little brother alone as they received their parents' fortune. although the two were set for life, mingzhu couldn't help but question the potential cause since she knew how meticulous her parents were. 

one day, there was a knock at the door from someone named dong sicheng, a guy around her age. he stated that he was a dedicated fan of her parents' works and needed to have a conversation with her. worried that he could be from the media team trying to fish out information for his report, mingzhu refused to listen to what he had to say at first. 

resorting to his last option, sicheng left her a piece of evidence he had gathered through his investigation, which would gain him her trust. he then revealed that they would need to go to where the incident took place since there must have been documentation of the experiment. with mingzhu's help, they'd be able to get into the laboratory's database in order to figure out the truth behind what had happened. 

will the three of them be able to decipher the truth? is what awaits them darker than what they've imagined? how will their friendship develop through this adventure?
