Cleo didn't want to live.

His heart had stopped, his blood had flowed, life itself had ebbed away from him.
But he lived. He was brought back. Forced back.
To tears and steel.
To disappointment and disapproval.
There was but one person happy to see him alive.
And so he was hugged, then tugged away to the country side to live a new life.
He died.
He lived.
And so he is reborn.

The concept of reincarnation was no stranger to me. You could find it everywhere you looked in the the twenty-first century; television, novels, manga, and animation. Ironically, reincarnation or transmigration was my favorite trope. I had always imagined what it would be like to awaken in a new location and time.
