    IN WHICH: jj maybank used to see his cousin nearly every day. then his mom left, and shortly after, so did his aunt - now he only sees his cousin for a few weeks in the summer. come the summer of 2020, porter marlowe is ready for a change - he hates his farm assistant job in georgia, his friends are all on vacation for their summer breaks and he just got turned down by the girl he likes. port loves the outer banks, it's always been his favorite part of the year, so when his cousin, jj, tells him that john b's boss, ward cameron, is looking for a new worker and is willing to let said worker stay with the cameron's, porter can't pass up the offer. but, what will happen when his cousin ropes him into a treasure hunt and he starts to fall for his boss's daughter?
