(A shuriken (手裏剣?, meaning "sword hidden in the hand") is a Japanese concealed weapon that was generally used for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing. They are sharpened hand-held blades made from simple iron or steel that were not ōdachi or katana quality. The Japanese also called them sunakakebo (吊るけぼう?).
