I believed it would be a lonely time, but I was willing to deal with it. I didn't expect that on my first day at my new job, I would instantly connect with my new boss. The stranger I had seen in the coffee shop before I knew who he was.
Jared makes me feel welcome from the second I introduce myself. There is a problem, though, no, two problems. First, he is gorgeous, and I find myself attracted to him. Secondly, he is a huge flirt, and I don't know how to deal with it.
I can't get involved with another man. I make it clear to him, but I find myself spending time with him outside of the office, and it becomes harder to resist. I need a friend, and he is willing to be one, but being only friends isn't easy when chemistry and sexual tension are brewing between the two people involved.
I don't want to be that woman. The one who starts something with her boss, but Jared is unlike any other man I have ever met, and he makes me feel things I haven't in a while. He seems to make me feel at ease and forget about all my worries, even for a moment.
Am I in trouble, or do I have enough self-control to ensure we don't get past friends? The last thing I need in life is more drama or heartache.
