I would like to say I hate the way it's written to save my pride, but honestly, the amount of joy via nostalgia this gives me makes it impossible for me to dislike it.

Tov knows first-hand how annoying they can be. From altering her sight, body temperature, and, most importantly, her ability to choose between fight or flight. The worst part about this? She didn't ask for them. None of the "cool" things she can do now, like see in the infrared spectrum and poison people she cuts, were asked for. 
They weren't even given to her on purpose. As far as she knows, the person that gave them to her made a mistake.
