Back in early 2026, Kat lost their family. This causes them to go silent and people are led to believe they are dead once they disappear. A man named Derek is a scientist, Kat tells him they are done and he can use them for testing. Days to months go by and by Kat's 20th birthday Kat is injected with this thing that accidentally caused immortality.

This was never planed and Derek knows if this got out that Kat would be caught for blood. He hides them until he dies. Now with everyone going underground, Kat stays on the upper ground due to the government blindly giving them a job of keeping track of the upper group.

They knew that a plague had infected the under ground but they didn't know how bad it had gotten. Since they never really aged they were stuck for millions of years until a couple of cats show up and one shows them the under ground where they swore to never go.
