Robin Buckley has always been good at plans.

None of it ever happened.
Years after monsters, mindflayers, and the end of the world derailed every unfinished version of herself, Robin still works at The Squawk, a place loud enough to keep her thoughts from settling. When she's forced to hire new help, the last person she expects to walk back into her life is Hunter Reed - the girl she once loved silently, meticulously, and never dared to tell.
What follows isn't a second chance so much as a reckoning: with old notes, abandoned plans, almost-crushes, and the realization that surviving isn't the same as choosing to live honestly.
Told through present-day moments and fragments of the girl Robin used to be, this story is about hesitation, growth, and finally learning that some things can't be planned - only said.

its late march in 1986. robin buckley is still a mess after last summers endeavor, i mean, damn. would being captured by russians and meeting a child with superpowers not leave a girl in a pretty rough condition? oh, not to mention, the mall she worked at "burnt down." now she was struggling to land a new job. something always felt amiss. over last summer, she grew close with steve. and the kids. and johnathan. but she felt a gap somewhere. that gap, would be nancy wheeler. despite being invited, mikes older -- prissy -- sister denied joining their mission. robin has come to the conclusion she's a bitch. she never even met the girl but always finds her gazing at her with the nastiest face known to mankind. everything changes when robin lands a job at family video towards the end of her senior year, alongside steve harrington. unfortunately for robin, steve would be her only form of transportation. and steve also happened to be close with nancy even though their relationship is long over. and to pile onto robins mountain of issues, she just so happened to be invited to attend prom. with steve. with nancy.
