The Ocean was as calm as a shallow pond on a clear day once. Not a ripple on it's clear surface, except for when it rained. The waters were thought to be the most sacred, the most beautiful in creation ever to exist. The water in it so pure - the Gods themselves would bathe in it. Mortals would drink from it as to capture any essence left of the Gods they could, and call themselves Holy. But one day, a ripple appeared on the surface. Gone unnoticed by most of everyone, but those who did deemed themselves insane. And then the ripple would come daily, always at night but so frequent, that people began to wonder - does a monster lurk in the shadows of the night? A monstrous beast to foul the great waters of the Sea? But none, it was a girl. With curious and magnificent sea blue eyes. But what could have those eyes have ever seen that the water turned so bitter, that no one could quench their thirst no more? That the clear unbreakable surface of the water became deluded and cloudy? How did the sheet of water, smoother than a mirror - rise to reach at the Moon then, every day hence? What happened to turn something the Gods themselves revered, to something so bitter and damning? All Rights Reserved
