El is an teenager that lives in a special world for Elites, like them, called Ushia. You may think that they are the happiest and luckiest of kids ever. With anything and everything they could ever want. But in reality, they have no friends and no one to talk to or to understand them as a person. It also doesn't help that they do things directly related to humans, a species unknowning and way further behind technologically than the Elites. Humans are considered to be a disgusting and terrible species.
The thing is. There is someone out there that will understand El and their vibes, they just don't know it. But will El be able to open up to anyone and show them who they really are?

It's a sweet and deep romance about two characters negotiating their feelings for each other while life is doing everything to tear them apart. The characters have such mature conversations and, there's no reliance on the miscommunication trope at all. I'm *obsessed.* If you enjoy intriguing fantasy novels with deep and thoughtful themes, check out 'The Gifts of Mortality' by @eleanorkennedy14 . It explores the concept of mortality and how it gives life meaning through the eyes of both gods and humans. The story follows Samil, the god of the Festivals and the Arts, who is shocked by the apathy of his fellow gods when a human terrorist group gains control over the Goddess of Death. Despite finding no support among his kind, he's determined to help the humans, which sets him down an interesting course. There are lots of great twists in this novel, and I also loved seeing how queerness was worked in throughout both the immortal and mortal realms. I wasn't special, I wasn't a marine or a scientist sent here from earth to study Pandora, I was a behaviorist-some say behaviorists are scientists too; but the brain isn't made up of mathematics and hope, it's like the roots of trees.
