All Eddie wanted was a smoke, then all the sudden he ran into Steve 'The Hair' Harrington and Robin Buckley completely drugged out of their minds. Steve and Eddie have a moment, but are then pulled away by Dustin. Eddie didn't see Steve again for a while.
2 months later, Star Court is reopening after the fire, Eddie is back to try and find Steve, because he just can't get that night out of his head. What's uninspected is Steve not remembering Eddie from that night whatsoever. That doesn't stop them from getting close all over again and becoming good friends... maybe even more.
(An AU where the mall stays open after the fire, so Eddie can see Steve in his chips ahoy uniform. Shut up we all wanted it)

Bless you hellichk.tumblr.com for this absolutely lovely cover I want to print and frame it and keep it forever. I DO NOT take any credit for their art. Steve(21) Hasn't had a chance to leave this awful place. He has stayed around for the kids, wanting nothing more to be there for each one's graduation. Confused. Lonely. Depression has really started to hit in the last couple of years after all of the tragic losses to the upsidedown. Nearly losing everything and everyone he's cared for and loved. Most everyone has gotten their chance to escape, Nancy and Jonathan moved to California after graduation. Robin's off at college. Until he realizes maybe he's not so alone here, sparking a true friendship with the most unlikely person, Eddie Munson. Eddie(22) hasn't been able to get out of this town either after swearing he would get the hell out of here many years ago. The kids are all graduating this year, which will most likely end up giving the two now men, no reason to stick around anymore. But what will happen to the two friends when Steve realizes the feelings he's thought for so long to just be a platonic friendship have always been a little more? I do not own rights to the ST characters or themes but I do own rights to my own storyline. I will be using pictures from artists that I find as the art for each chapter. Steve's always been the jealous one according to the group, according to literally everyone. Even the kid who supposedly praises him. Everyone tells him that he's jealous of Dustin finding another older friend to have by his side. But no one knows why and that it's not all jealousy. He dropped what he was doing and turned around making cold eye contact with her. "Robin. I'm being serious. Drop it." The girl tensed up and worry gathered on her face for a short second.
