James was in a complete sense of despair. Ever since his encounter with his girlfriend Aria's ex, he's always had this sense of competition with him, a need to prove himself to feel in her league.

"James it's okay honestly. I'm obviously not into him anymore, and you are the only thing that can bring me my happiness. So please just don't feel like it's a constant battle for my love, because it isn't. It never will be." Aria would constantly reassure him with this, until one day, James just couldn't take it anymore.

He looked over the overpass, as his frost bitten hands gripped the barrier, as he looked over at the passing cars and the blinking lights, before he started humming his song.
