Victor Nikiforov has always known what he wanted, he was determined to get what he wanted. What he wanted to most, was for his boyfriend, Yuri Katsuki,  to win the Grand Prix Final, but not for the reason you would expect. He wanted Yuri to win because when Victor had first started to coach Yuri he promised that when Yuri won the Grand Prix Final that he would marry him. It has been two years since Victor started to coach Yuri.
