shine has been in the paw patrol before zuma joined suffering from a fear of fire luckily her older brother marshall was always around to take one out. Marshall was only protective of him when their around Stangers. shine perfers she/him cause most dogs her breed are boys and she doesn't want to get miss gendered and soon develops a crush on a pup who suffers from aquaphobia (fear of water) otherwise known as rocky and soon discovers someone else like him too
