The society has different tales to tell about growing up. A black Nigerian girl with a story that shows her different images revolving around her identity. Tina emerging from the 'Little lady' she once was, to a 'grown-up lady' gives full expression of turmoil and challenges. It was not long until life came at her in full force.
Lojay never thought that Tina would eventually give up all she ever had, down till the last bond of friendship or even to family to be caught up in the winds of passion, emotions and independence. She was to black to seem white anyway, Lojay had already concluded that by the time she turned 18, she would have already bumped into the syndrome. She was already in the syndrome... the 16th birthday party will tell the tale of how the syndrome started.
It was already toxic enough to follow the wrong crowd, but it was much more toxic to yield to fit in - she was a different breed Ade concluded as the love story began another chapter of her life she was not ready for as she came back to Nigeria. Tina was lost, hurt and broken beyond repair to the extent that her 21st birthday party seemed to be a curse and the worst thing that ever happened to her.
"Values, Character and Standards... it's all you ever talk about!" Tina asked offended
"Would you in a million years think that putting up with the evil coming your way make you strong or make you grow? Don't fall into the temptation of making any mistake." Cynthia said squarely...
Worlds would definitely fall apart - the mind on its own is a battlefield.
