This is a story about a girl struggling to stay normal, and a curse that would forbid her of such a privilege. Just a few months ago, I would have taken advantage of how wonderful it was to just be… Normal. The word itself didn’t even sound the same. I would give anything for my mother to hug me, tell me she loved me, and genuinely mean it again. I would give my life for my father to start a conversation with me, without it being forced, and without the cautious look that lingered behind his eyes. Like I was broken, unfixable… Like it was only a matter of time…The life I lived before my entire world blew up seemed so distant now. It was a life I wasn’t fully prepared to leave behind. A life I wasn’t ready to forget. But here I was.
