Gerard, Mr. Way, is an art teacher fresh out of college with a tendency to fall for those who are younger than him. That wasn't his motive for being a teacher of a senior art class, but the thought crossed his mind a few times and it definitely wasn't ruled out.

Frank Iero is a self-concious senior who doesn't really have many friends, unless you count his art teacher, Mr. Way, who sometimes was a little too friendly. But he was only a suicidal teenager with the strongest attraction to a man that was at least five years older than him.
