Winter Reid has always tried to flow with the current. It was hard enough just keeping her head above the water when her father's moods sucked up all of the oxygen around her. She learned to tread carefully and not make any unnecessary ripples. When her family fled their California home near the beach for a cramped trailer in Hawkins... Winter met a boy. A boy who made his own waves.

As Eddie Munson prepares to graduate from Hawkins High, Winter decide it might be time to step out of his shadow & find a place where she belongs. When she joins the cheerleading squad, Eddie worries they will drift apart. But... something else is coming that will make her question everything she thought she knew about herself and her town.
