1530s, "born out of wedlock," formed in English (and replacing earlier illegitime, c. 1500), modeled on Late Latin illegitimus, "not legitimate" (see il- + legitimate).
Iraya Illegitimus was forced to live away from her parents in able to protect their noble names. She was born out of wedlock, and having her was the greatest mistake her parents have ever done.
In a world full of magic, she survived and thrived to be the best. She wanted nothing but acceptance and validation from the people who abandoned her. But deep inside her heart, she also wanted revenge.
