Mara Ibrahim has one rule for surviving highschool: stay invisible. As one of the only Black Muslim girl among classmates who never quite let her belong, keeping her head down has always been the safest choice. Untill the school's golden rebel, Theodore Creed, notices her. And eventually Mara falls hard. But love was never meant to be safe for a girl like her. Not in a world that judges her skin, her scarf, her faith. Not when the whispers turn to rumors and her parents find out. Just as Mara feels herself unraveling, she discovers a journal in her backpack belonging to Hannah Cole: the quiet, brilliant girl who never spoke to her ... and who, somehow, has been watching it all unfold. Through Hannah's words, Mara sees her own story in a new light. A love worth fighting for. A silence worth breaking. And maybe, a fall worth catching. Not just her own, but Hannah's too. Because falling hurts but rising? Rising is power.

Enigmatic

That bandana boy, with those chocolate orbs, has my heart. "Live a life where happiness is precondition," she said. "What if the life is a condition for happiness?," he replied. Again, irony played its part. New city, new beginning, different emotions, different feelings. Old city, old past, distorted memories, entangled sentiments. "I hope we were alike," he said. "But we both have a heart," she replied. That moment, he really wished if they were same. Enigmatic: (adj.) mysterious and entrancing; beyond ordinary understanding
