In the aftermath of everything Hawkins has endured, the world finally slows down but for Mike and Will, things have never felt more complicated. As they navigate old friendships, new tensions, and the weight of unspoken words, they find themselves caught between the past and the future, between what was, what is, and what could be. Mike had to get to Will, he heard Will fall and groan in pain as Vecna tried to take over his mind. Mike can't let that happen to Will, not his Will, especially because he hadn't told Will that he loved him and he never heard Will say it back. So this can't be the end of them before they started, Mike HAS to get there, and fast. An AU where Will is being taken over by Vecna and only one person can help him out of it. This byler story takes place in modern times (also no upside down and Vecna bc they literally ruin everything), Will, Jane, and Johnathan, along with Hopper and Joyce, had moved to California the last day of summer, just before freshman year. Will left his friends, his town, the only home he had...Mike... But after a long school year, the three finally managed to get Joyce and Hopper to agree to let them go back to Hawkins for the summer, and of course, stay with the Wheelers. After everything The group dealing with vecna , demogorgons etc the mind flayer is back and vecna is in full control of it and he's after will and el. Jonathan, Nancy and robin have to make sure will and el are safe but one of them gets possessed by the mind flayer.
