Atlas was used to being a shadow. In a way, he liked going unnoticed. It keeps him from having to exert himself beyond his comfort zone. He can observe, and take note of things that most people can't. But it gets a little lonely in this narrow world of his. Maggie's never been a follower. She projects her energy onto any person she meets, and is beyond the realm of extroverted. The problem is her attitude. She's never been one to listen to the people in charge. What did they know that she didn't? So what happens on that faithful day at Mahe High? Just HOW blurry are the lines between these two? Surely nothing good is to come of their interaction. I mean, they're complete opposites. But then again- Opposites attract.

Meadow Winslow has spent her life on the sidelines-observing, learning, enduring. Being mute in a world that never slows down for her has made her tough, but it's also made her careful. Careful about who she lets in, careful about the fights she picks, careful about the secrets she keeps. But then there's Atlas Linden. Mysterious, brooding, and way too good at pretending she doesn't exist. What started as an unexpected connection between them shattered the night Meadow found him in the last place she ever expected. Atlas thought he could stay away. He thought he could keep her safe by keeping her out of his world. But when Meadow finally stops waiting for him to let her in he realizes that silence has never been his ally. Because some echoes are too loud to ignore. And some people are impossible to forget.
