Trieu Au

"I promise to keep you safe," her Ma (mum) told her. "I will always be here for you, my beautiful daughter." A silent tear rolled down her rosy cheek. Ma knew that it would be hard to keep young Trieu Au safe from the Chinese. They had already invaded the topmost of Vietnam. A country that was once filled with joy and laughter, was now drained of all colours. The sky was once a warm blue, but now it seems bruised and battered.
