Ang kuwento ay umiikot sa alamat ng Aetheria, isang mahiwagang isla na pinaniniwalaang puno ng ginto at kayamanan ngunit nakatago sa gitna ng malawak na karagatan. Tanging ang gabay ng dalawang sinaunang Compass Rings ang makapagpapakita ng landas patungo sa islang ito.
