Listen to Pengwen and get it off the table. We're eating here," Steve says with a mouthful of pudding. Gwen looks at Steve with furrowed brows. "Penguin?" Steve pauses with his spoon mid air and looks at the girl. "Yeah. Pengwen," He drops the spoon and lifts his left hand. "Penguin," Then he lifts his right hand. "Gwen," He slaps his hands together. "Pengwen," He smiles. "I kind of hate it," She smiles. Steve shrugs. "Well, I could switch it out with 'Gwenny', 'Wendy'..." Gwen stops him, holding her hands up with wide eyes. "Okay, stop," Steve puts his index finger in the air like he's just had a revolutionary idea. "Oooh, how about 'Gwenola'?" He raises his eye brows for emphasis. "'Pengwen'. 'Pengwen' is fine," Gwen chuckles. Steve smiles. "Good to know!" - Gwen Henderson was given another chance at life when she was 13 years old. Adopted by Claudia Henderson, she was finally able to be a somewhat normal teenager. She had a loving family, an annoyingly adorable little brother, and a fresh reputation at school. She seemed to get on with the new lifestyle great as well. She got along with the small family, and even got along with her adoptive brothers friends. And although this may sound great to any other normal teen, Gwen was still ridden with the trauma and guilt of her past. Sleepless nights were a common occurrence, as were the nightmares that had her jolting up in bed, drenched in sweat with a scream. Moving into the small town of Hawkins during her sophomore year of high school wasn't a treat, but she didn't let it ruin her spirits too much. In fact, she even made some new friends along the way. Granted, most of them were in middle school and were major nerds, but that didn't bother her. She even joined in on some of their DnD campaigns whenever they invited her. It was fun, that was until one of the kids, Will, went missing. Along the way to finding him, (Y/N) befriends some people from her own school, including the goody-two-shoes Nancy Wheeler, and her boyfriend, Steve "The Hair" Harrington. She never really understood why everyone was obsessed with Steve. Or was everyone obsessed with his hair? She never knew. He could be a real asshole sometimes, too. But for whatever reason, she finds herself becoming closer with him the more they hang out. Maybe the king himself wasn't all too bad. - I've rewritten this book as I didn't like the plot all too much! You can find it on my profile titled "Waiting For A Girl Like You".
