Bernard, an adult German Shepherd, is a war dog veteran who suffers from PTSD and lives with his master and fellow soldier and his wife and children. One night, a stray Aegean cat stumbles into their home and was revealed to be pregnant. She gives birth to a healthy, beautiful kitten. The family took pity on the cat and adopts it, naming her Isolabella, alongside her daughter, whom they named Nova. At first, Isolabella is bitter and resentful toward Bernard due to her fear of dogs with whom she had multiple violent encounters in the streets in the past. But she would slowly become to trust him once they learned more about each other. Their expanding world seems to grow when a family member gave them Sadiki, a juvenile Japanese Akita, in their care. Together, the three of them swore to protect and shield Nova from the horrors and dangers of the real world. When Nova accidentally becomes lost, the three pets set out to look for her, away from their masters, and face their inner demons: Bernard with his PTSD, and Isolabella with her fear of dogs. While Nova herself experienced the horrors of the streets for the first time. NOTE: The story featured is entirely fictitious.
