Book 7 in the Dons of Punjabi series
Sunjot Singh, the youngest scion of the illustrious Singh family, was a man of stark contrasts. While his revered grandfather, Sardar Avtaar Singh, was renowned for his benevolence and bravery, Sunjot had carved a reputation for himself in a completely different realm. His lethal prowess was such that he could orchestrate the demise of his victims, disguising their deaths as mere accidents. The world saw him as a heartless assassin, but beneath the facade, there lay a man who had once known innocence and yearned for affection.
In the eyes of society, Sunjot was a cold-blooded murderer, a label that clung to him like a shadow. Yet, hidden beneath the layers of darkness, there resided a vulnerable soul longing for love and acceptance. The world turned a blind eye to the fact that he had once been an innocent child, untouched by the sinister forces that had shaped his destiny. Only one person saw beyond the facade, delving into the depths of his tormented soul. She saw the flicker of humanity that still burned within him, refusing to be extinguished by the darkness that surrounded him.
Sunjot's life was a tapestry woven with contrasting threads. While his grandfather's legacy was one of compassion and bravery, Sunjot's own path diverged drastically. He had become a master of deception, an artist in the realm of death. His ability to eliminate his enemies discreetly, making their demise appear as mere accidents, had earned him a reputation as a cold-blooded killer. However, amidst the whispers and accusations, there was a side to Sunjot that remained hidden from the world. He yearned for love, for a connection that would thaw the icy grip of his existence. And in the midst of this desolation, there was one person who saw him for who he truly was, a man with a past shrouded in innocence and a heart that still longed for redemption.

"We are getting married in a week." He stated.
I looked at him with my tear filled eyes. He took my both hands in his , slowly caressing them as his gaze met mine. I wondered how he could be so calm in such a situation.
"You don't have to marry me. I don't want to be a burden on someone." , I muttered as I slowly averted my gaze from him.
" I need you in my life, Miraya. And to answer your question, you will never be a burden on me. NEVER."I quickly looked at him.
And to be by his side for this past one hour felt like he was healing something inside me. Something he has never broken.
His words seemed odd. And still they were enough to assure me to trust him with my life.
"Why?"
"I need an heir for my family and your child needs a father. No one will know about this except us. Okay?"
