Diana Mercer, a young Jedi Padawan from Mandalore, struggles with her growing feeling toward Anakin Skywalker, her fellow Padawan. Haunted by her troubled childhood before being found by the Jedi, she must either follow her heart or become the perfect Jedi and let go of her feelings. Indeed he's only just a friend.

Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, Padawan learner and only just nineteen years old with the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders. He struggles with his feelings of doubts and frustration at the Council. But when he is assigned to protect Padme Amidala from assassins with his childhood friend Diana Mercer, he must choose between his ally and fellow Jedi who understands his past or the Nabooian Senator of his dreams, who doesn't seem interested in him, at least not first.
