God or Īshwara is known as the Karma Phala Daata. Meaning, the bestower of the fruits of action.

God is also known as the Kalpataru, the wish fulfilling tree. He does fulfill the wishes of His devotees but leaves the results of those wishes to the devotee's lot.

Whatever joy or sorrow a person has to experience as a result of his/her wishes being fulfilled is solely his/her responsibility.

According to our Karma, God gives us happiness and unhappiness, joy and sorrow....all depending upon our meritorious actions and non-meritorious actions.
