"The world is evil. It's cruel out there and you can't trust anyone."

Ever since Lara witnessed her best friend get shot in broad daylight on her street, Lara has spent years and years isolating herself from the outside world in fear until darkness takes over her entire life.
That is until her parents decide to drag her out of her cave and send her to live with her (unrelated) godparents for the summer on the other side of the country in a big city.
But for Lara remains certain: "I'm not going out!"
... if it weren't for their son, Elian, whose sunny temper and cheeky extroverted ways get all up in her grill.
Will she find her way back to who she was before the death of her best friend and realize that there's not only darkness, but also sunshine?
