i felt her arms wrap around my neck as she tried to pull me towards her and keep me close. but i couldn't do this. not right now. maybe not ever.

i pushed her off of me and turned the other way so i didn't have to look at her. i felt my eyes cloud up with tears as i prepared myself for what i was about to say.

"you lied to me, soriah. for wh-" she was about to cut me off but i continued before i felt like giving up. "for what? i was fine with the way my life was before i met you. and you came and changed everything i stood for. you don't love me. you never did. you dragged me into whatever little game you were playing after i gave you everything. that's not love, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧."

i heard as her body dropped down to the floor as she sobbed for me. and oh how i wanted to drop down with her and tell her everything's okay. but i wasn't the villain here. she was.

i sighed deeply as i gave her one more look before i made my way to the door, but i stopped with my hand on the door handle because what she said caught me off guard. "i'm pregnant ezra."

i opened the door and stepped over the threshold. "kill it."
