Mia woke up to find herself in a prison with almost none of her memories. Left with only a few glimpses of the past, and her name, she discovers that this prison is made for kids with special abilities. Kids with powers. Kids like Mia.

Mya-Lynn, AKA Matterless, thought she was the only human with powers on the planet. Until the fall of her Freshman year, when she discovered that millions of kids around the world shared the same abilities that she had. But before she comes to terms with this, she is kidnapped and brought to a prison for kids with special abilities. Kids with powers. Kids like Mya-Lynn.

When their stories cross paths, Mia and Mya-Lynn join together to find an escape from the camp and face betrayal, death, their pasts and the consequences of what being a true hero really means.

I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. Of course it does, after all, the highest concentration of Qi is found in forests where ancient redwoods grow. You might be wondering, what is Qi? In Japan it is called "ki," and in India, "prana"." The ancient Egyptians referred to it as "ka," and the ancient Greeks as "pneuma." In Africa, it's known as "ashe" and in Hawaii as "mana." Qi, Prana, Ki, call it what you will, this energy is the life force itself.
